Privacy Policy
Foamies ("Foamies", "we", "us") is a surf community and app being built by Théa and Lorène. This policy explains what personal information we collect while our website and waiting list are live, how we use it, and the choices you have. Foamies is pre-launch: the app is not yet available, and today the main thing we handle is the information you share when you join the waiting list or ask to be listed as a surf pro.
Who is responsible for your data

What we collect
- Waiting list details. When you join the waiting list, we collect the information you provide (such as your email address, and any details the sign-up form asks for). Sign-ups are handled through our Linktree link and the tools it connects to.
- Surf pro listings. If you fill in the "Get listed" form, we collect your business name, the category of activity you select, and your email address, so we can contact you about a listing before launch.
- Messages you send us. If you email us or reach out on Instagram, we keep your message and contact details to reply.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting may log standard technical information (such as browser type and approximate region) to keep the site secure and working.
How we use your information
- To add you to the waiting list and let you know when closed testing and the launch open.
- To contact surf pros about being listed on Foamies.
- To reply to your questions and messages.
- To improve the app and website based on feedback.
- To keep our services safe and prevent misuse.
We only email you about Foamies. We do not sell your personal data.
Legal basis
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent when you join the waiting list or submit a listing request, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing our website and communicating with people who contact us. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run Foamies, for example:
- Linktree and its connected sign-up tools, to collect waiting-list registrations;
- Google services, which we use to store and process form submissions;
- our website host and email provider.
These providers process data on our behalf. Some may be located outside your country; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep waiting-list and pro-listing information until launch and for as long as needed to contact you about Foamies, and then delete it or keep it only if you have become a Foamies user under a future policy. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to unsubscribe. To exercise any of these rights, email foamiesclub@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies strictly needed for it to work, plus any set by the third-party tools mentioned above (for example when you open our sign-up link). We do not use advertising trackers.
Children
Foamies is intended for surfers aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.
Changes to this policy
As Foamies grows toward launch, we will update this policy and, when the app goes live, expand it to cover in-app data. We will post any new version here with an updated date.
